North Central College wins over UW-Platteville on Sat., Nov. 30

UPDATE Nov. 30 /  History is in the making at North Central College!  The Cardinals won over the University of Wisonsin-Platteville Pioneers 52-24 at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium,  advancing to the third round of Division III playoffs for only 2nd time in North Central’s history.  Go, Cardinals!

North Central College hosts football playoff vs. UW-Platteville

The excitement of NCAA playoff football hits Naperville on Saturday, Nov. 30 when North Central College hosts the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in second-round action.CARD_HEAD_2_color

The 11-0 Cardinals face the 10-1 Pioneers at noon Saturday in Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium, 455 S. Brainard St., Naperville. Admission is $8 adults and $4 for senior citizens, students and children ages 3 and older.

Only 16 teams remain in the hunt for the NCAA Division III National Championship, with the winner to be determined at Stagg Bowl XLI Dec. 20 in Salem, Va.

The game may be seen live on Naperville Community Television (NCTV17) in Naperville and at nctv17.com.

A live broadcast also may be heard on WONC-FM 89.1 in the Naperville area and at wonc.org. Links to live video, audio, and in-game statistics can be found on the North Central College Cardinals website.

The Cardinals defeated Albion College (Mich.) 63-7 on Nov. 23 in first round of the playoffs, while UW-Platteville defeated Concordia University Wisconsin 54-20 in its first-round contest.
