We live in a world where everything is available at our fingertips; literally…Just punch a few keys and with a click of the mouse, whatever you want shows up at your doorstep.
This shift in technology in business holds true for interior design as well. As a designer my job is much easier now than before. I come into a client’s home and I am trilled to see they already have visited websites such as “Houzz.com.” It’s a website much like “Pinterest” for builders, architects and designers.
Consumers are able to view beautiful photos of completed rooms and print them out so I can see exactly their style and wants before we even begin.
The major paint brands also have made their websites very user friendly. You can go on and view colors and click to order large paint samples.
I often send my clients to the major furniture brand websites to pre-select some styles of furniture they may want to have. The Internet has missing components, though, and those are face to face customer service and expert opinion. That is where a designer can help and we, too, are only a call or click away.
We show up at your doorstep with samples, advice and expertise. So, do your web surfing, print those photos, then bring in the designer to pull it all together. You can decorate your whole home and never leave home. So easy!
