dean-DSC_6560Downtown Naperville Sidewalk Sales / 10AM – 8PM / Downtown shops and restaurants will be taking it to the streets for three days during the annual Summer Sidewalk Sales & Downtown Naperville Days. On Friday and Saturday, visitors can enjoy “hot deals on cool styles” inside and outside from downtown merchants. From Main Street Promenade to River Square and all locations in between, folks will discover bargains galore, so come spend the day. And, of course, Greg DeGeeter or Al DeGeeter at Dean’s Clothing likely can tell you more about the history of Sidewalk Sales than just about any merchant. Just ask them to share memories under the big tent they set up in Dean’s Parking Lot.

Live Music at CityGate Grille / 8:30PM to 11:30PM / Jive away your evening with live music at CityGate Grille. Paris Swing to perform jazz and swing of the 1930s. Gilbert and Sullivan comic opera “Iolanthe” / 7:30PM / North Central College’s Summer Light Opera presents the Gilbert and Sullivan comic opera “Iolanthe” at 7:30PM July 12-13 and 18-20 and at 2PM July 14 at Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31 S. Ellsworth St. “Iolanthe” is a witty tale of renegade fairy tales and lovestruck judges by the creators of “The Mikado.” Tickets are $15/adults and $10/students and seniors.

More than 100 local and national artists will be selling, displaying and demonstrating their incredible art, nestled under the large old trees amid the landscaped gardens and historic buildings at the outdoor history museum. Summer musical “Sweeney Todd” at NCC / 7:30PM / The School of Performing Arts in Naperville presents its summer musical theatre show “Sweeney Todd,” a chilling and suspenseful tale of an unjustly exiled barber who returns to 19th century London seeking revenge. Four performances will be staged at 7:30PM July 11-13 and at 2:30PM July 14 in Madden Theatre, 171 E. Chicago Ave. For tickets and info call (630) 717-6622.

Sunday

Concert in Your Park at Buttonwood / 7PM / A free pop concert will begin at 7PM at Buttonwood Park Sunday evening hosted by the Naperville Park District. For more info, visit www.napervilleparks.org.
